Solar (aka Salted Nuts)

A poem from 2017

From the very start I couldn’t get enough
Your solar kisses enchanting body and soul
Completely unexpected quality of love
Addicted and dependent, yet made whole

First flush of devotion blinded in brilliance
I reached out and you flooded me with peace
I only wanted to know you more and more
Insatiable thirst, I was not willing to release

And so we split the onlooking cosmic opinion
Some scoffed while others smiled with delight
I was newly alive and that was all that mattered
Living in the day, saying goodbye to the night

While so-called experts debate and contradict
I sigh and carry on with no regrets
You ask me to keep following you around
And I keep silently desiring, “yes, yes!”
