The Planets 4 - Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity

A poem from 2019

By Jove! What a grand entrance he makes
This is not the image he usually brings to mind
Stolen by a jolly fat man

Here he comes, a fanfare
Laughing, in three-four time
Spinning around
Take your partner by the hand
Wait your turn
He will get to you in the end
You have all eternity for a meet and greet

He strolls arm in arm with his children
The dancing mice so tiny should watch their steps
Though really they are in no danger
His peace he gives to us
His peace he gives to them
Galaxies cannot hold his mirth
All was made for his pleasure
Come and take your share
He has held back nothing good

You can laugh now
You couldn’t cry if you wanted
All tears have been wiped
