Hey, Jude! (Part Two)

A poem from 1986

Watch me perform it on YouTube...

Hey, Judas
I didn’t mean to sound harsh,
I really feel sorry for you
Destined for this condemnation
For helping God fulfil His plan.
But God knows best
And I’m not criticising Him
For who am I to tell the Almighty
What to do
And what not to do,
When I cannot even control my own body,
Nor can I ever hope to,
Till Christ returns.

Hey, Judas
We’ve all sold our Saviour
It was we who hung Him on the cross of Calvary,
With each new sin
We knock the nails in once again,
“There is none righteous,
No, not one.”
We receive thirty silver coins at birth
But return them
As we come to Jesus
And share His cross
And suffering.
