Smelly

A poem from 2019

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning
I turn on the computer to the whiff of disdain
A strong odour of self-righteousness assaults me
The pungent scent of a lack of self-awareness

On my side? You can do no wrong!
On the other side? You can do no right!
Anonymity and distance breed contempt
A blind madness of sickening souls

Adrift

A poem from 2019

Stuck in the middle of a dense darkness
Separated from you, but not too far
I drifted away, it was stupid and wrong
Will you reach out to me, or must I run?

Eggshells

A poem from 2019

Delicate soul
We walk around her quietly
So as not to disturb
Her peace?
Our peace!

She will easily shatter
A subject we must avoid
But we have to talk about…
Sshhhhh!
You’ll regret it if you try

You will end up in prison
Upsetting her
Preserve the insanity
It’s the only way you’ll get a good night’s sleep
Untroubled by the lies

Pomegranate

A poem from 2019

A million seeds held together by a Father’s love
A million seeds containing a precious Son’s blood
A bitter-sweet experience, a Body divided, yet one
